Healthy Waterways Waterwatch Program

Get Involved

Monitoring water quality at your local waterway can be tailored to suit your availability. Equipment is simple to use, and regular training and support is provided.

Volunteer monitors:

  1. Participate in a full day training session
  2. Work with their local Healthy Waterways Waterwatch Coordinator to construct a monitoring plan and select monitoring sites
  3. Are accompanied by the Healthy Waterways Waterwatch Coordinator on the first two monitoring sessions and helped to review the data at six or twelve monthly intervals
  4. Undergo an annual data Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) check
  5. Forward data to Healthy Waterways Waterwatch
