Activities for Schools

Waterwatch is extremely popular with primary and secondary schools. Waterwatch coordinators conduct a range of exciting activities in the classroom and at local rivers or creeks aimed to increase student’s knowledge and awareness of river health issues. School activities are closely aligned with the Victorian curriculum (VELS). To find out more about school activities, visit Waterwatch for Schools or the Education Resources section.

Training and support for Community Groups

Waterwatch Melbourne supports a large number of community groups across the Port Phillip and Westernport catchment area. Each group is provided with specialised training and receives on-going support from their Waterwatch Coordinator to develop and implement their own rivers and creeks monitoring program. Information collected by these groups is made available to Melbourne Water, the EPA and local councils to help identify what can be done at a local level to improve their rivers and creeks.

Training is free and sessions are conducted regularly across Melbourne and the wider Port Phillip and Westernport catchment area. For more information on your next local training session, visit our Training Events section.

Resources
